Manteno Public Library is marking National Library Card Sign-Up Month in September by encouraging both new and existing patrons to participate in a raffle for a gift basket. The initiative aims to highlight the benefits of holding a library card and promote increased use of library services.
During September, individuals who sign up for their first Manteno Public Library card will receive a raffle ticket. They can earn an extra ticket by taking a photo with the “I Got My First Library Card Today” sign, which may be featured on the library’s social media page. Additionally, every day that new or existing patrons check out materials using their library card, they will get another entry into the drawing—limited to one ticket per day.
The prize, called the Bookworm Bundle Gift Basket, is available to all patrons aged 16 and older. The basket contains items such as a vintage-style bookmark, reading journal with gel pens, reading light, blanket, MPL mug, “To Be Read” book basket, $25 Barnes & Noble gift card, and three books: "The River is Waiting," "With a Vengeance," and "Witchcraft for Wayward Girls."
Entries are accepted through September 30th. The winner will be announced on October 1st.
“Come celebrate with us and enjoy all the benefits your library card has to offer!” stated Manteno Public Library.
