Stephen L. Rauch, 67, Remembered as Devoted Volunteer Firefighter and DJ

Stephen L. Rauch, 67, passed away on June 23, 2025, in Merrillville. Born on May 1, 1958, in Joliet to Marvin Rauch and Jackeline Kordell, he served in the Manteno Fire Department for 20 years. Known for his love of cars, amusement parks, trains, and his passion for DJing, Stephen leaves behind a legacy of warmth and dedication.

Survived by his wife Mary Rauch, children Mindy Rauch and Corey Rauch (Brittney Pelehowski), sisters Suzan Simmons and LeAnne Brady, and grandchildren Paige McCormack, Izabella Rauch, Gabriella Rauch, Arabella Rauch, Oliver Rauch, Jaxson Spry, and one on the way.

Preceded in death by his parents, grandson Peyton Rauch, and brother Randy Rauch, a visitation and service led by Rev. Jack McCormick will be held at Brown-Jensen Funeral Home on July 1, 2025. Memorials to the family's wishes. Stephen will be fondly remembered for his service and passions that brought joy to many.
